Our commitment

First Century Bank is committed to making its website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Banking is an essential service, and we want every customer to be able to open an account, review their options and reach us without barriers.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) (opens in a new tab) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. “Partially conformant” means that most of the site meets the standard, but some content does not yet fully conform, as described below.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following areas where the site falls short, and we are working on them:

• Online banking. Our online banking and enrollment system is hosted and maintained by a third-party provider. We have asked that provider for its accessibility documentation and we review it as part of our vendor management.
• Embedded video. Videos hosted on YouTube use that platform’s own player, whose controls we do not control. Where video conveys important information, we aim to provide the same information in text on the page.
• Embedded third-party widgets. A small number of pages include content supplied by outside services, such as event registration and our podcast player. These do not always meet the same standard as the rest of the site.
• Documents. Some older PDF documents were produced before our current standards and may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We will provide any document in an accessible format on request.
